Curb Your Enthusiasm episode offered as solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict
Many of history’s greatest mediators have tried fruitlessly to bring peace between Israel and Palestine, who nevertheless remain bitterly divided over such petty grievances as national identity, natural resources, occupied territory, decades-old grudges, deeply held religious beliefs, and the occasional bombing. And who better to offer perspective on life’s little quarrels than Larry David—or that’s what lawyer and visionary Alan Dershowitz believes, anyway, as he tells the Columbia Current that he recently sent the landmark Curb Your Enthusiasm episode “Palestinian Chicken” to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the hopes that he might “invite [Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas] over to watch it together. And maybe if they both get a good laugh, they can begin a negotiating process.” Indeed, perhaps after so many years of violent escalations, these two can finally come together over the universal love of tasty chicken and jokes about “fucking the Jew out of you.” After all, that scene where the Jews and Arabs hug in The Naked Gun didn't do it, so we've got to try something here.
