Finally returning to theaters after more than a decade, the rage-infected hordes of 28 Days Later will make their comeback in the upcoming 28 Years Later. Much of the speculation surrounding the new film, the third movie in the zombie series centered around the number 28, has focused on original series protagonist Jim, played by Cillian Murphy. 2002’s 28 Days Later made Murphy a star, and despite his character largely being kind of a dickhead, fans would like some consistency within their zombie universe and many believe Murphy will pop up in the new film. Though a producer on the film, Andrew MacDonald, denied that the emaciated zombie in the 28 Years trailer is not Murphy, a write-up by Variety says otherwise. While we’ll still have to wait a few weeks to get to the bottom of that mystery, Boyle still has plans for Jim—assuming he can get a third movie made.
