Diddy arrested for hitting a guy with a kettlebell
For as fun as it should be, playing sports in college can actually be pretty stressful. You’ve got to keep your grades up without sacrificing any training time, you’ve got to get up for practice without missing out on any casual sex, and sometimes—no matter how much you prepare—your dad comes in and starts swinging exercise equipment at people. That nightmarishly embarrassing scenario is what happened to UCLA Bruins football player Justin Combs earlier this week. We don’t know the exact details, but The New York Times says that his father, famous rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, was arrested for swinging a kettlebell at someone. Parents can be so annoying!
Though no one was “seriously injured,” the official charges against Diddy are three counts of assault with a deadly weapon (have you seen a kettlebell? They could smash a head like a melon), battery, and “making terrorist threats.” Jim Mora, the Bruins’ football coach, referred to this whole thing as “an unfortunate incident for all parties involved,” and added that he would “let the legal process run its course” before making any other comments.
Obviously, the real victim in all of this is the younger Combs, and we just hope this doesn’t distract from his studies any more than it already has.
