The final trailer for Denis Villeneuve's movie spotlights an assassination attempt on the emperor of the universe, led by Pattinson's shape-shifter.

The end of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy is fast approaching. In the final trailer for Dune: Part Three, released Tuesday, Chani (Zendaya) has had enough of Paul Atreides’ (Timothée Chalamet) power trip and teams up with Robert Pattinson’s creepy new antagonist, Scytale. The trailer opens with Paul circling Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan before using the Voice to compel her to tell him what she knows: An assassination attempt is coming, and his lover, Chani, is involved. “We found a way to neutralize the emperor and end this madness,” Pattinson’s bleached-haired and eyebrow-less shape-shifter teases. At one point, Scytale asks Chani if she’s ready, and she confirms that Fremen keep their word.

Paul can’t be too surprised, though, that an uprising is coming. He didn’t become the emperor of the universe without making some enemies. In the trailer, he acknowledges he’s totally lost the plot and become everything Chani and the Fremen stand against. “After years of combat, I’ve become the oppressor Chani had sworn to fight,” he tells Jason Momoa’s Hayt. “I’m the enemy.” Elsewhere in the trailer, sandworms cause chaos, Paul’s sister Alia (Anya Taylor-Joy) is covered in blood, we glimpse Paul and Chani’s twins, and Chani says she was doing this for their children. “I’m doing this for you. There’s nothing I can say to make amends,” Paul replies, as Chani shakes her head.

Dune: Part Three opens in theaters on December 18. You can watch the trailer below.
