Donald Trump thought Christian Bale was Bruce Wayne when they met
Donald Trump, the president of the United States Of America, is definitely one of those idiots who goes around saying, “my life is like a movie.” This is in part because he has his own plane and shits in a gold toilet, but also in part because, according to Christian Bale, he thinks Batman is real.
As part of a response to Variety at the premiere of Vice about who he thought should play Trump in a movie, Bale revealed that he once met Trump while filming a Batman movie. Naturally, the future Big Boy In Chief thought he was talking to the real Bruce Wayne: “We were filming on ‘Batman’ in Trump Tower and he said, ‘Come on up to the office.’ I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne, because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.”
(Two of Christopher Nolan’s Batman films feature scenes at Trump properties: The Dark Knight’s final showdown with the Joker takes place at the as-of-then-unfinished Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago, while New York’s Trump Tower was used as an exterior for Wayne Enterprises in The Dark Knight Rises and is most likely what Bale is talking about here.)
Bale doesn’t go into detail about what the two talked about specifically, though hopefully Bruce Wayne and Donald Trump commiserated about their irrational fears of bats and stairs, respectively. And while Bale may well be joking, it is worth noting that this is not the first time Trump has been accused of confusing real-life and fiction. In a 2008 interview with Opie And Anthony, wrestler Triple H claimed that Donald Trump called him to find out if Vince McMahon was OK following a storyline in which McMahon’s limo was blown up by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. It is also worth noting that the president is a massive dumbass, so yeah, he probably thinks he met Bruce Wayne.
