Oh baby, we are so back. Final Destination is adding a new installment to its empire of batshit crazy death scenes for the first time since 2011, and… yeah, it’s still batshit crazy. The first trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines isn’t really a trailer at all, but a treat for anyone who used to stay up late watching videos called “Final Destination best deaths compilation” on YouTube. If you were so traumatized by that one scene where a tree flies off the back of a truck and vaporizes a guy that you get anxious every time you drive behind a lumber transport (okay fine, this writer may be projecting a bit), you probably don’t have anything to worry about here. The death scenario in the new clip is pretty specific. We’ll let you soak it all in without any spoilers, but just know that if you have a nose ring and/or work in a piercing shop and/or have a playlist on your phone called “[Your name]’s sad mix” you may want to approach with a little extra caution. You’ve been warned.

Here’s what we know about the film’s actual plot, as of this writing: “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.” This person is likely William Bludworth, Tony Todd’s legacy mortician with an expert knowledge of Death and its “twisted sense of justice,” per the film’s synopsis. Todd died in 2024, so it will be special to see him on screen in one of his last roles here. The cast also included Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, and Brec Bassinger.

Final Destination: Bloodlines premieres in theaters and IMAX (if you dare) May 16. Just try not to piss off Death (or get your nose ring caught in any precarious chains) before then.
