Funeral home deemed an inappropriate place to advertise The Walking Dead

Sort of a real-life example of one of those unfortunate, ironically juxtaposed target webpage ads, Clear Channel has come under fire for placing a banner for The Walking Dead on the side of a funeral home in Consett, County Durham, England. The Co-operative Funeralcare said it was never notified that the neighboring billboard (which has since been removed following the outcry) would be emblazoned with the word “DEAD” in giant letters, nor photos of staggering corpses, two things that possibly could upset bereaved families of the recently deceased. On the other hand, it could have brought in a much more sardonic, irony-appreciating clientele. [The Daily Mail via io9]
