Game Of Thrones’ Carice van Houten to play a Van Houten on The Simpsons
It looks like everything’s coming up R’hllor, as Game Of Thrones’ Carice van Houten (Melisandre, The Red Woman) will be making a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. That comes from Entertainment Weekly, which reports that van Houten will be playing a different kind of Van Houten for the show—specifically the kind with blue hair and thick eyebrows, which is to say that she’s a relative of Milhouse.
EW says her character will be named Annika, and rather than giving birth to a murderous shadow baby or having sex with a king’s bastard, she smokes e-cigarettes and “sparks some romantic interest from Bart.” By our rough estimation, this will make it five or six times that Bart has had romantic interest in a girl that he probably shouldn’t—which is fix or six times more than most 10-year-olds—but it’s hard to fault a show for recycling plots when it has been on the air for 60 years, like The Simpsons has. Carice van Houten’s episode will air in early May, and EW has a picture of what her character will look like—if you don’t mind spoiling the fact that she’ll be a girl with blue hair and thick eyebrows.
