Google founders to get their own biopic

Although David Fincher’s Facebook movie The Social Network has yet to blow your mind with all its hyper-stylized typing scenes and dramatic un-friending, it’s the obvious inspiration for an upcoming biopic about the founders of Google—albeit one that will likely be considerably less dark, because the founders of Google are apparently nice dudes. Borrrring! But also inspiring, according to producer Michael London, who recently acquired the rights to Ken Auletta’s Googled: The End Of The World As We Know It about the rise of the company’s creators, Sergey Brin and Larry Page.

For those unschooled in Internet mythology, Brin and Page met in Stanford and bonded over their vision of a better search engine, building a company based on the edict, “Don’t be evil.” London says the film will explore that edict and how Google’s success presented “a million challenges to that mandate,” while also telling their story "sympathetically." A script is supposedly already in the works, which will contain maybe one worthwhile scene buried behind page after page of useless crap. [/rimshot] [/spinning bowtie]
