Harry Shearer to play a stepdad in Bastards
As reported by Deadline, Harry Shearer has joined the cast of Bastards, the Ed Helms and Owen Wilson-starring comedy about a pair of adult brothers who go searching for their father. Glenn Close will play their “eccentric mother,” who apparently lied to the boys about who their father was. Shearer will play a guy named Gene, who is reportedly “an eager husband to Close’s Mrs. Reynolds” and the stepfather of Wilson and Helms. J.K. Simmons will also show up, most likely as an easy-going dude who isn’t easily angered, and Terry Bradshaw and Ving Rhames will appear as a pair of former football players (Bradshaw will play himself, Rhames will play a guy named Rod Hamilton, obviously).
