Idris Elba is People’s Sexiest Man Alive, so can he please play James Bond now?

The Fast And Furious franchise has a lot going for it: high-octane action, a killer ensemble, and, as of last night, two of the world’s sexiest men. It was announced Monday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that, two years after Dwayne Johnson earned the distinction, Idris Elba is People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. Any fan of The Wire, however, will tell you he’s been overlooked since at least 2002.

“I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?’” Elba told People before acknowledging that, no, this is the right choice. “Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’” Later, he took to Twitter to post the issue’s cover, adding that, while this is cool and all, you should really get off Twitter and go vote. Elba will soon square off against Dwayne Johnson, People’s sexiest man of 2016, in Fast And Furious spin-off Hobbes And Shaw. He’s also slated to star alongside notably sexy people like Taylor Swift and Judi Dench in the Cats movie, and will defy his inherent smolder by dressing down as the hunchback in Netflix’s adaptation of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. That’s some range!

Also, if this doesn’t make him the next James Bond, what in god’s name will?
