Jason Stryker

Who is he? Jason Stryker

His power: Jason Stryker can create illusions that allow him to psychically influence the person caught in the illusion. Spinal fluid harvested from Jason’s body can be used to control the minds of those exposed to it.

His story: Jason Stryker was doomed from birth. Not because of his mutant ability, but because of his father, Col. William Stryker. Jason was sent to Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters when he first manifested his mutation, but was quickly pulled out by his mutant-hating father when he realized Jason wasn’t going to be cured. Being a student at Xavier’s could have taught Jason to use his powers responsibly, but being denied that education pushed Jason to lash out against his parents, using his abilities to psychically torment them until his mother ended up committing suicide. After the incident, Jason’s father cryogenically froze him until he found the opportunity to use Jason’s abilities for his own evil plot. He used Jason’s spinal fluid to force mutants to do his bidding, and then used Jason himself to convince a captured Charles Xavier to wipe out mutantkind. The combined force of the X-Men and Magneto’s brotherhood stops Col. Stryker before he’s successful, and Jason is left to die when Xavier is rescued. In the new timeline created by X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Jason is still a young boy who hasn’t manifested his mutant powers, but that’s going to change very soon.

Played by: Michael Reid MacKay

Currently, Jason Stryker is: It’s been a decade since 10-year-old Jason was mentioned in Days Of Future Past, so he’s probably manifested his powers and been enrolled and pulled out of Xavier’s, unless his path has changed considerably in the new timeline.

Where will we see him next? There are no plans for Jason Stryker to make any future appearances, but given the ubiquity of William Stryker in the XMU, his return to the screen is a definite possibility.
