Jeff Goldblum rates Jeff Goldblum tattoos on a scale of 10 possible Goldblums

Like Bill Murray before him, Jeff Goldblum is as much meme as he is man. So distinctive is his personality and cadence, the actor’s every word is met with rapture by his adoring fanbase, making him more suited than most to moonlight as a jazz musician, commandeer a food truck called Chef Goldblum’s Jazzy Snags, or give a 15-minute speech about his own career that somehow isn’t insufferable.

His latest display of effortless charm comes via the above GQ video, which finds the actor reacting to tattoos of his own likeness. “I played a detective on television,” he says, “so I notice things others do not.” It’s true, too, as he spends a great deal of time investigating the finer points of each tattoo, from forehead veins to to Adam’s apples to an especially supple set of lips. He even offers up a few neat pieces of trivia: After seeing a tattoo of his character from The Life Aquatic, he reveals that his dapper pink scarf from the film was from director Wes Anderson’s personal collection. Neat!

“Look at that!” he says after seeing one especially detailed tattoo. “I wish I were looking at that and eating a nice plate of huevos rancheros!” As you might expect, nobody says huevos rancheros as evocatively as Jeff Goldblum.

We give this video 10 Goldblums out of a possible 10 Goldblums.
