Bream Gives Me Hiccups will star Parker Posey as the divorced mother of Oscar, a quiet and observant young boy to be played by young Vine star Elliott Smith. Oscar turns into a little food critic when he starts spending his lunches in the janitor’s (played by Stalker’s Victor Rasuk) closet writing detailed reviews of every restaurant his mom drags him to, as well as his difficult relationship with his mother, foreshadowing a life of freelance writing and loneliness. Bream Gives Me Hiccups starts filming in New York this month and is Jax Media’s second self-funded project of 2016, joining the Alia Shawkat-starring dark comedy, Search Party, which has been picked up by TBS.
Before this foray into making television, Eisenberg tried his hand at playwriting with The Revisionist, his solipsistic drama that opened in Beverly Hills last month. Eisenberg recently starred as Lex Luthor in Batman V. Superman, and he’ll next be seen in Now You See Me 2, which will probably be even more ridiculous than the first installment, but at least this one has Lizzy Caplan! Eisenberg will also be reuniting with his co-star-for-life Kristen Stewart (they did American Ultra and Adventureland together) in Woody Allen’s upcoming Café Society. What will he do next? Become a magician?
