Jimmy Kimmel shares the James Talarico interview too hot for ABC

Once again, an interview with Texas senatorial candidate James Talarico has arrived on YouTube after the FCC deemed it unacceptable for linear broadcasting, and, once again, it will likely end up receiving far more attention than it would have had it just run on ABC. It also gives the impression that Talarico’s message that he was going to share on Jimmy Kimmel Live! was censor-worthy because, well, the government was trying to stop people from hearing it. Speaking ahead of his appearance, Talarico called it “the most dangerous form of cancel culture” in an appearance on MS NOW (via Variety), continuing, “People at the top, powerful politicians, powerful media executives, censoring what we watch, what we read, what we say,. That, again, should be a concern to everyone who believes in the First Amendment and believes in the freedom of speech.”

So what was the message Talarico came to share with Kimmel? Well, obviously, there was some campaigning and plenty of talking about the ways in which Talarico’s opponent, Ken Paxton, is not good. But a huge portion of the interview is spent talking about Christian theology and about how the non-Republican Jesus was the kind of guy who actually cared about helping the poor and might flip a table or two. In general, it’s pretty typical political-candidate-on-late-night fodder, which is apparently controversial to this administration. You can watch the interview below.
