Johnny Depp dons his producer mustache for Muscle Shoals drama series

In a move that unfortunately—or thankfully, depending on your thoughts on Mortdecai—will not require the respected thespian-turned-mustache aficionado to put on his best Alabama accent, Johnny Depp has reportedly signed on as one of the producers of an upcoming drama series based on the music documentary Muscle Shoals. The 2013 documentary told the story of producer Rick Hall and his FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the unlikely setting for the recording of classic ‘60s and ‘70s hits like “I’ll Take You There” and “Brown Sugar,” developing a unique musical sensibility that became known as the “Muscle Shoals sound.”
