Jon Hamm says he's too old to play Superman, okay?
Certain demanding factions of the Internet have been insisting that Mad Men star and all-around alpha male Jon Hamm take over the role of Superman in Zack Snyder’s new film ever since it was announced, a movement based on early rumors that Snyder might be considering a more lived-in, middle-aged Man of Steel and the fact that Hamm is also an unearthly handsome alien. But while producers have since confirmed that the film will concern a more common, younger Superman, the Hamm movement hasn’t exactly quieted, leaving Hamm himself to comment on it at the Critics Choice Awards—telling MTV that, yes, he’d discussed the role with his Sucker Punch director Snyder, but that Superman is a “young man’s game” and one he’s been “aged out of by now.” So there.
