Kanye West shook and settled with the photographer he punched

The case of Kanye West versus that photographer he punched back in 2013 has finally drawn to a formal close. While West avoided jail time for the incident, earning only probation and community service, a civil suit has forced West to settle with the photographer he decked. Terms of the settlement haven’t been disclosed, but West was, at the very least, made to apologize to the paparazzo, Daniel Ramos, and the two were photographed shaking hands. Smart money says some cash also changed hands, but that’s unconfirmed.

Ramos’ attorney, the controversial Gloria Allred, says that both she and her client “believe that this case sent an important message,” and that celebrities “have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question,” no matter how insulting or intrusive that question might be.
