Kat Dennings cast in Michael Patrick King's Two Broke Girls
CBS’ Two Broke Girls—Sex And The City producer Michael Patrick King’s more modestly budgeted version of Manhattan single gal life, co-produced by comedian Whitney Cummings—has cast its first lead: Kat Dennings, she of Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist and equally infinite Tex Avery wolf-style comments, will play the “poor from birth” half of said broke girls, Max. She’ll share her struggles with the yet-to-be-cast Caroline, who hails from a wealthy family but ends up down on her luck and working with Max at the same Brooklyn diner, where the two hatch a plan to start their own business if they can ever get the capital together. This is New York, so we’re guessing it involves clothes, music, or selling Ecstasy.
