Kendrick Lamar undoubtedly did something to the world in the last 72 hours.

Kendrick Lamar set a Super Bowl viewership record as big as the Eiffel Tower

Since performing at the Super Bowl on Sunday, eviscerating Drake from orbit, and making art out of a country in decline, Kendrick Lamar hasn’t been far from the cultural conversation, whether via praise or because people can’t figure out how “Kendall” won all those “Grammars.” But one thing they can figure out, apparently, is cold, hard facts. Fox reports that Kendrick Lamar’s Big Game performance set an all-time viewership record for halftime shows. 133.5 million people tuned in to watch the Caesars Superdome’s capacity crowd shout “A minor” in unison. Damn.

Lamar’s halftime show was up by 3% from last year when 129.3 million people watched Usher perform. It was also the most watched Super Bowl ever, per Vulture, which reports that 127.7 million viewers tuned into the Big Game on average, also up 3% from 2024. Adding to the argument that Lamar might have killed the game’s vibe, viewership peaked right before halftime, with 137.7 million fans tuning in during the second quarter, between 8:00 P.M. and 8:15 P.M. Now the question becomes whether or not Drake will choose to sue everyone at the Super Bowl, too. As we know, they love to sue.
