Kid Cudi says Kanye's all better now, so it's totally okay that he performed with him

In fact, Cudi has turned such a dramatic cheek in his relationship with West that he performed with him on Friday night in Chicago, as part of a zig-zagging tour of shows that has made a couple of runs through the United States at this point. Asked about his decision to perform with West—a man he once said it would require a “miracle” to make things right with—Cudi said it was all about forgiveness: “I’ve been around Ye,” Cudi wrote on Twitter, in response to criticisms from DJ Peter Rosenberg of people supporting West so soon after his very public embrace of antisemitism.” And I can honestly say talking to him now is how it use to be when I first signed to him, but even better. He was dealing w mental health struggles for years and now hes good. Everyone deserves some grace when they family. I was the hardest on him out of anybody. I held him accountable. He apologized and it was sincere.”

(Here’s a quote from Cudi, about West, in 2022, by the way: “I’ve watched so many people throughout the years that are close to him be burned by him doing some fucked-up shit. And then they turn around and forgive him. And there’s no repercussions. You’re back cool with this man. He does it over and over.”)

West has, so far, managed to get through most of 2026 without making any public comments about slavery being a choice, or yelling “Heil Hitler” into a microphone, or, again, literally selling T-shirts with swastikas printed on him. He’s expected to continue touring through 2026, crisscrossing the globe as he does.
