Kirsten Dunst to make a movie where she doesn’t "lose money": Minecraft 2

If you dream it, you can live it. Just ask movie star Kirsten Dunst, who wished her way into A Minecraft Movie 2

Kirsten Dunst to make a movie where she doesn’t

Send your dreams into the universe and the universe shall provide. At least when you’re movie star Kirsten Dunst and your dream is to be cast in any movie that makes money, like A Minecraft Movie 2. Last year, while promoting her latest box-office underperformer, the relentlessly charming but downbeat Roofman, Dunst dreamed a little dream of making a movie that doesn’t lose money. Speaking to Town And Country, she revealed what she’d really like to be in A Minecraft Movie 2 because, as T&C puts it, “her kids loved the first one and because she’d like to make a pile of cash.” Dunst herself added, “Maybe I can just make a movie where I don’t lose money?”

Your wish is Hollywood’s command. Deadline reports that Dunst has just joined the cast of the still-untitled Minecraft 2. The cast of director Jared Hess’ next installment in the Chicken Jockey saga includes Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Matt Berry, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jack Black. But while it’s easy to give the credit to her wish casting, Dunst is no dunce. If you want to make money in Hollywood these days, Jack Black is the answer. Black was even able to push the meta Anaconda reboot to $134 million worldwide. Meanwhile, A Minecraft Movie was the highest-grossing movie domestically of last year, edging out Lilo & Stitch by less than $200,000. Maybe there’s a role for Dunst when he gets around to making The Paper Mario Movie, too.
