La La Land adds to its awards-season haul at the BAFTAs
La La Land continued its well-choreographed march to Oscar gold with success at the BAFTAs today, winning Best Film and four other honors. Director Damien Chazelle triumphed in his category, while star Emma Stone took the Leading Actress trophy. The musical also collected awards for cinematography and original music.
Casey Affleck and Viola Davis scored unsurprising victories in the Leading Actor and Supporting Actress categories for Manchester By The Sea and Fences, respectively. And Dev Patel nabbed Supporting Actor for his turn in Lion over Moonlight’s Mahershala Ali, who is favored to win the Academy Award. Meanwhile, your new Spider-Man, Tom Holland, was anointed by the public with the EE Rising Star Award. You can see the full list of winners below.
