Lady Gaga and Joe Biden reportedly teaming up to launch sexual trauma centers

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lady Gaga and Joe Biden might be preparing to launch a “groundbreaking initiative” that will provide support to victims of sexual assault across the country. This is going off of a comment Biden made at Glamour’s Women Of The Year Summit, with him responding to a question about the prevalence of rape on college campuses by explaining that he’s working with Lady Gaga to set up trauma centers “where women can go to get the longterm hep they need to deal with these crises.” He also added that people are now beginning to recognize “the longterm impacts on the health of women and men who’ve been abused,” saying that is “the next great frontier” he wants to be involved in.

A spokesperson for Biden later told EW that he and Gaga are just discussing what to do about trauma like this and that any plans are in the “early stages,” but this wouldn’t be the first time Biden and Gaga have worked together on something like this. In 2016, they put together a rally and concert at the University Of Nevada in Las Vegas to highlight the need to prevent sexual assault on college campuses, and EW also notes that they worked on the It’s On Us campaign to prevent sexual assault.
