LAPD apologizes for handcuffing Wyclef Jean
Two days after detaining Wyclef Jean in error, the Los Angeles Police Department has issued an apology to the Grammy-winning artist. Yesterday, Jean shared a video that was taken on Monday night, in which he was handcuffed by LAPD officers for sort of matching the description of a robbery suspect. The former Fugee was on his way home from a recording session when he was pulled over and handcuffed in short order. Jean calmly described the situation on the video, and made it clear that he was planning to take civil action. “I was treated like a criminal until other police showed up and pointed out they had wrong person,” Jean tweeted yesterday.
