Late-night hosts pay tribute to David Bowie

As fans continue to mourn David Bowie, who died Sunday at the age of 69, tributes and other remembrances have also poured out from the rock ’n’ roll icon’s friends. The hosts of late night paid their respects Monday night with words and music. On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon took a moment to remember the “mad genius,” with whom he occasionally exchanged jokes via email. Fallon lauded Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, urging viewers to listen to it and thank the artist for his considerable cultural contributions.
Over at TBS, Conan O’Brien also celebrated Bowie’s humor and talent, describing him as a “phenomenal musician” who was both fun and funny. O’Brien showed a reel of clips from interviews with Bowie, including one visit that resulted in the two singing O’Brien’s praises.
