Learn how to make the mythic, gargantuan “Meatsiah” from Bob’s Burgers
Andrew Rea of the YouTube channel Binging With Babish has a simple mission: Recreate delicious-looking food from movies and TV, and teach his audience about cooking in the process. And his latest Bob’s Burgers-inspired video does just that. In fact, viewers will learn how to cook not one but three burgers from Bob’s pun-loving mind. That includes the “Baby You Can Chive My Car Burger,” the “Bet It All On Black Garlic Burger” (a.k.a. the “Stupid Black Garlic Burger”), and the Holy Grail of burgers: The Meatsiah.
Rea starts by offering some tips on how to make freshly ground beef without a meat grinder (basically just cube the beef, freeze it, and grind it in a food processor). From there he dives into the recipes themselves, which come from the official Bob’s Burgers Burger Book cookbook. While the chive and the black-garlic burgers look delicious, the showstopper is clearly The Meatsiah. It consists of beef tartare inside a burger medium-well inside a “Burger Wellington.” Rea takes viewers through the steps of this complicated burger monstrosity, offering tips and tricks along the way. For instance, freezing or refrigerating the beef tartare will ensure it doesn’t cook inside the burger while the whole thing is baking. Indeed, the final burger, though insanely decadent, actually holds together much better than expected.
