Longtime Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen shot and killed
Well-known publicist Ronni Chasen—who represented many actors, filmmakers, composers, and Oscar-contending movies over her long-running career—was shot and killed in her car last night, shortly after leaving the premiere of Burlesque. She was 64 years old. Chasen was a much-liked, respected publicist who had been in the business for over 20 years, with clients that ranged from composer John Williams to producer Richard D. Zanuck, and had most recently been working on Oscar campaigns for Michael Douglas and Alice In Wonderland. She was also the sister of B-movie director Larry Cohen. Police are still investigating, but say Chasen was found early this morning in her crashed Mercedes Benz with multiple gunshot wounds to her chest.
