New Masters Of The Universe trailer is firmly rooted in Eternia

If the first teaser for Masters Of The Universe was mostly about establishing the premise of Mattel’s latest foray into filmmaking—presenting a sort of Barbie-esque romp bouncing between our world and Prince Adam’s Eternia—the official trailer, released today, wants you to know that this is a movie with action in it. Fights, spaceships, smoldering rubble, and a sick-ass electric guitar riff proliferate the new trailer as if to say, yes, this is a Mattel movie, but it certainly isn’t Barbie

An official synopsis for the film reads:

“After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.”

Masters Of The Universe will also feature Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley and comes from director Travis Knight. It opens in theaters on June 5, 2026.
