Mastodon to “pour majestic rock sauce” all over North America on its new tour
Mastodon is brimming with anticipation at the thought of touring North America in support of its forthcoming seventh album. Or, to put it another way: “We couldn’t be more excited to pour majestic rock sauce all over your town.”
Consequence Of Sound reports that the Georgia-bred metal band will hit the road along with The Eagles Of Death Metal in Montana this April, before zigzagging across the continent—dousing audiences in their signature sludgy béchamel all the while—and winding up in Austin, Texas in late May. In a statement, they wrote: “Come on down and help us celebrate the season of new beginnings where fresh buds bloom, animals awaken, the earth comes to life, and there’s a new Mastodon album to melt your face off!”
The untitled new album is due out sometime in the spring of 2017, presumably before the tour gets underway.
