Matthew Perry to play another likable jerk on The Good Wife
With the abrupt cancellations of first Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip and then Mr. Sunshine suggesting that America isn’t interested in a Matthew Perry in a purely “loveable curmudgeon” mode—or maybe just that those shows weren’t very good—Perry will attempt to tap into his slightly more personable side with an upcoming recurring gig on CBS’ The Good Wife. According to the character description, Perry will play an “extremely charming Chicago attorney” who heads up a panel investigating a police shooting, where Julianna Margulies’ character, Ms. Good Wife, eventually comes to question Perry’s ethics. “Could his integrity BE more suspect?” is what we would have Good Wife say at some point, were we on the writing staff. Fortunately, we are not.
