Maze Runner director Wes Ball moves on to “epic Norse fantasy”

After successfully navigating his way through The Maze Runner and its upcoming sequel, The Scorch Trials, director Wes Ball has already lined up his next project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox has hired him to direct Fall Of Gods, an “epic Norse fantasy” that’s based on a Kickstarter-funded illustrated novel of the same name. The book is about a former warrior who has settled down to live on a farm with the woman he loves. That’s not much of an epic fantasy, though, so the woman eventually disappears and he has to go on a quest to save/find her. Along the way, he’ll head to Jotunheim (which should be familiar to Thor fans) and he’ll meet up with some gods that we can only assume will have big muscles and helmets with horns. That all may sound like your usual sort of fantasy quest, but the art on the Kickstarter page is really slick, so if the visuals of the movie can live up to that it might not matter what the plot is.
