Milemarker springs back to life with its first new record in a decade, new song “Carrboro”
Thought Milemarker never officially broke up, it’s been hibernating for a while. Following 2005’s Ominosity, the band toured sporadically, and after two of its members decamped to Germany, it fell by the wayside. That is, until last year, when Milemarker was dusted off for some shows and a new 7-inch single, with the promise of a new album, too. That’s all coming to fruition this summer when Lovitt Records releases Overseas on August 26, along with the long overdue reissue of the band’s 2000 album, Frigid Form Sells, this month. The A.V. Club is premiering ”Carrboro” below, which shows that Milemarker isn’t attempting to retread its past on Overseas. While ”Carrboro” shows that Milemarker hasn’t lost its ability to drape new wave flourishes atop its post-hardcore attack, it’s clearly approaching its new album with its eyes on the future instead of the past. The tracklist for Overseas, along with the band’s upcoming tour dates, can be found below.
