Morrissey will release a new record later this year
Having finally convinced a label to take him on as a client, Morrissey will release a new solo LP this year. After a long period wherein the former Smiths frontman claimed he was unable to find a home among the major labels, after badmouthing them for buying chart positions and putting out passionless pop pap, Moz has gone ahead and signed with one of those majors anyway. He’s penned a deal with Universal imprint Harvest Records, which has put out records by acts like Death Grips and BANKS. Morrissey's new record—his first since 2009’s Years Of Refusal—will be (or was already) recorded in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli, and it should be released sometime in the second half of 2014.
