Natalie Portman is a foul-mouthed pop star staging a comeback in new Vox Lux trailer

Natalie Portman stars as an aging pop star named Celeste in actor-turned-director Brady Corbet’s Vox Lux, which premiered to strong reviews last month at the Toronto International Film Festival. Following a teaser, the movie has now received a full trailer highlighting Celeste’s attempted comeback in the wake of career-threatening scandal and the singer’s fractured relationships with both her wary daughter and a long-suffering talent manager played by Jude Law.

The trailer also offers a taste of its sumptuous score, which comes from reclusive songwriter Scott Walker, as well as the original songs written for the film by pop songstress Sia.

Vox Lux will find its spotlight when it lands in theaters on December 7.
