Neil Marshall and Darren Bousman are making a horror anthology movie
Just in time for the Gaelic festival of Samhain and any other things that tend to happen at the end of October, The Descent‘s Neil Marshall and Saw sequel mastermind Darren Bousman have announced that they’re going to produce Tales Of Halloween, a new V/H/S-style horror anthology movie. This comes from Deadline, which says the project will feature ten stories from eleven different directors that are all set in the same “sleepy American suburb” as it gets “terrorized by ghouls, aliens, and killers” on Halloween.
The directors involved aren’t especially big names—beyond Marshal and Bousman—but Deadline says they’re all a part of Los Angeles’ “tight-knit horror community” and they’ve decided to start calling themselves “The October Society.” We’re not sure if that means they’re just adult versions of the kids from Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid Of The Dark, but we hope it does. The list of directors involved includes Big Ass Spider!’s Mike Mendez, Soulmate’s Axelle Carolyn, Night Of The Demons’ Adam Gierasch, and a bunch of others who are equally not-that-famous. They’re all apparently big horror fans, though, and that might be all that really matters anyway. Also, it’s about time someone made a scary movie that’s based around Halloween. Why has that never been done before?
