Netflix wants another season of Nobody Wants This

The third season of Netflix's hit rom-com continues to prove its title wrong. Despite the Israel-focused headlines, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody will return for another season of Hebrew hilarity.

Netflix wants another season of Nobody Wants This

Tensions are not rising between Netflix and Nobody Wants This. The streamer has picked up the hit rom-com for another season, per The Hollywood Reporter. Despite the show arriving with headlines about the cast and crew’s thoughts about Gaza, Nobody Wants This remains a hit for Netflix. The series’ third season premiered two weeks ago, amassed 13.4 million views, and earned the qualified honor of largest opening week for a returning comedy of the year. “We are so happy and thrilled to do another season of our favorite show on television, which coincidentally is the one we run,” co-showrunners and executive producers Erin Foster, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan said in a statement.

The show’s third season arrived amid headlines no one on the show’s publicity team wanted: The cast and creator commenting on Gaza. After star and “hot rabbi” Adam Brody put himself down as “thinking it’s Genocide” and “wanting a free Palestine,” the show’s creator Erin Foster, whose conversion to Judaism is the basis for the show, tried to quell animosity by saying, “While I love Adam, I also disagree with him. And that’s okay,” on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. Things took a decidedly darker turn when Brody’s TV mother, Tovah Feldshuh, responded to Brody’s comments about Israel’s mass killings with, “To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild. It’s right out of Hitler’s playbook. You take the victim and you make the victim the perpetrator.” She later clarified, “Tensions are NOT RISING. Profound differences of opinion are.” They’ll have at least another season to figure it out.
