Avengers: Secret Wars adds Noah Jupe to its enormous cast

According to a Deadline report, A Quiet Place and Hamnet star Noah Jupe has joined Secret Wars in an approrpiately “secret” role that is “expected to play a key part in the story”—whatever that could possibly mean at this juncture, when all we have to go on is snippets from Doomsday that feature Shang-Chi and Gambit kicking at each other, Mystique shapeshifting into Black Widow, and Pedro Pascal expectorating indignantly all over RDJ’s shiny Doom mask. Perhaps Jupe’s age is a clue. Let’s see: He could be the grown-up Franklin Richards, mutant child of Reed Richards and Sue Storm; Victor Von Doom in flashback (“Teen Doom!”); or perhaps a younger variant of Peter Parker, just to keep Tom Holland from feeling too cozy about his current situation. 

At any rate, Jupe recently co-starred in the West End revival of Romeo & Juliet with Spider-Man: Brand New Day actor Sadie Sink, who will return as Jean Grey in Marvel’s post-Secret Wars X-Men movie.  

Marvel Studios might not be prepared for at least one logistical challenge with a cast this enormous: Invariably, one of their stars will be left off the Doomsday and Secret Wars red-carpet invite lists, which could be embarrassing for all parties involved. Imagine forgetting to invite, say, Danny Ramirez—Falcon II himself!—because your cast has swollen to the size of a rural phone book.
