Oscar Isaac drops in on the trailer for the brand new Star Wars animated series, Resistance
Star Wars has typically had pretty good luck with its animated output: with a few notable exceptions, the franchise is littered with cartoon success stories like Cartoon Network’s original Clone Wars and the recent, well-regarded Rebels. Now, we’ve got our first look at the franchise’s latest animated adventure, Resistance, which promises to finally shed some light on the inter-trilogy backstory that went down in between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Speaking of the latter film, the trailer also boasts an appearance from one of the movie’s stars, as Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron recruits young pilot Kazuda Xiono to ferret out disloyal elements in the New Republic’s military. And while it seems slightly doubtful that Disney might allow any of the big questions about this period—like, “Hey, who the fuck is Snoke?” or “Another, bigger Death Star? Really?”—to be addressed on a Disney Channel series, at least we’ll get some crisp-looking CG animation out of it in the process. Star Wars Resistance launches on October 7.
