If there’s anyone who knows the depressing reality of post-breakup rituals, it’s Pete Holmes. The comedian’s semi-autobiographical HBO series Crashing is a glimpse into the comic’s life after his first wife cheated on him, his relationship with faith was fractured, and he decided to pursue comedy full-time. Holmes’ onscreen post-breakup life involves a lot of blind-drawing and self-pleasure, a deliberate choice according to the comedian, as he wanted to recreate his experience with heartache authentically onscreen. In the video above, Holmes talks about the realities of heartbreak.
