Read This: Here are some interviews with former Peanuts voice actors

Nostalgia is a term people use more loosely each day, and its meaning is dwindling as more people capitalize on it. There are a few cultural pieces that still capture the true essence of the word for multiple generations, though, and one of them is the series of Peanuts holiday specials: A Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Author Marc Nobleman tracked down a few of the actors who voiced Charles Schulz’s beloved characters, and got to know a little bit about their lives then and now. His first interview is with Tracy Shaw, who voiced Lucy in the 1965 special A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Shaw was 10 years old when she voiced the first incarnation of the football-snatching character, but after the first movie and a few commercials she says her voice was “too old” by age 12. The interview includes details on her life now, along with some thoughtful insight on the world of child acting.

Shaw’s interview is part of an ongoing series with several characters, with one new interview each day.
