America’s intermittent sweetheart Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car yesterday morning in Los Angeles, sustaining minor injuries. Witherspoon was reportedly out jogging when an 84-year-old woman drove into the actress while she was in a crosswalk, thus earning a ticket for “failing to yield to a pedestrian” and an avalanche of shaming blog comments. Fortunately, Witherspoon is fine and “resting comfortably” after her surprise, momentarily life-derailing run-in with a stranger, so we can safely joke that, judging by her movies, she and that elderly motorist should begin slowly realizing they’re in love any minute now.
