Shakira hospitalized and has postponed tonight’s show in Peru 

Following a sudden trip to the ER, Shakira announced that she couldn’t perform on the final day of her tour in Peru.

Shakira hospitalized and has postponed tonight’s show in Peru 

Shakira’s hips won’t be doing any truth-telling on stage tonight. The Colombian singer revealed on Instagram Stories (per Uproxx) that she was hospitalized with abdominal issues last night and has postponed this evening’s concert in Peru as a result. According to her website, Shakira was set to perform at Estadio Nacional tonight and tomorrow, February 17. Shakira was only two days into the latest stretch of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, which began last year in support of her Grammy-winning album. This latest run started with a February 11 show in Rio de Janeiro. She performed in São Paulo on Thursday, February 13.

“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she wrote. “The doctors whose care I am under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening. I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.”

In her message, the singer hopes her doctors will discharge her tomorrow so she’s “able to perform the show I’ve prepared for you.”  Shakira has not announced a make-up date for tonight’s concert but says her “team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you.” Most importantly, Shakira appreciates your understanding and loves you.
