Weekend Update co-anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che are stepping out from behind the desk as co-hosts of his year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, Variety reports. The two will be at the center of a Saturday Night Live-heavy Emmys telecast executive produced by SNL bossman Lorne Michaels. NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt says of this year’s Emmys, “with surprise appearances by other cast members of Saturday Night Live, I think we are in for one of the funniest awards shows in a long time.” SNL’s victory in the Outstanding Variety Sketch Series category, already a safe bet, is presumably all but assured.
