As reported by Deadline, Sasheer Zamata is set to star in So Close, an NBC comedy pilot from Life In Pieces writer Greg Malins. The pilot will also star Sean Kleier from Odd Mom Out, with him and Zamata playing two “hopeless romantics” who don’t know each other even though they’re destined to fall in love and “live only blocks apart.” It’s not exactly the feud between the Capulets and Montagues, but walking a few blocks can be kind of a pain in the ass if it’s raining or something. The pilot also features Sabrina Carpenter, the friend from Girl Meets World, as a roommate living with Kleier’s character who is “always shocking people” by saying “crazy/confusing things.”
Zamata had been on Saturday Night Live for four years up until the end of last season, when she followed Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer off the show.
