Andra Day fights off her family's demons in first The Deliverance trailer
Glenn Close, Mo'Nique, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Caleb McLaughlin also star in the Lee Daniels Netflix thriller

The Deliverance—a new exorcism flick coming to Netflix—just dropped its first trailer. That’s not to be confused with The Exorcist: Believer, David Gordon Green’s terrifyingly bad 2023 take on the iconic franchise, or Mike Flanagan’s upcoming attempt at a repossession. It’s also completely unrelated to The Exorcism, an equally terrible Russell Crowe-starring pic from last month investigating the urban legends surrounding the production of the original 1973 Exorcist, or last year’s The Pope’s Exorcist, which also stars Russell Crowe and is about exactly what it says in the title.
Exorcisms have clearly possessed the hearts and minds of Hollywood for some reason, but not a single one of the aforementioned films has been anything close to “good.” Lee Daniels—who received a Best Director nod in 2010 for his film Precious—clearly hopes to change that.
