The first Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina teaser really leans into the "chilling" part

Much as Riverdale has successfully deflected (and transcended) all the “sexy Archie” jokes the internet could throw at it, the first teaser for Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina—the new series from Archie Comics chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and his fellow Riverdale EPs—confirms that they weren’t fucking around when they added the “chilling” part to the title. Featuring Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka as the title character, the trailer teases bloody occult mayhem with a side of high-school drama, with a very special appearance by the devil himself at Sabrina’s witchy Sweet Sixteen party. The series seems very much in line with Aguirre-Sacasa’s comic series of the same name, which similarly seeks to bring real horror to the Archie universe.

Truly, between this, The Witch, and The Blackcoat’s Daughter—also starring Kiernan Shipka!—we are living in a golden age of Satanic coming-of-age tales. The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina premieres on Netflix on October 26.
