The Miniature Wife is meant very literally in first look at Peacock series

Honey, I Shrunk The Kids crossed with Scenes From A Marriage” is how Matthew MacFadyen described his new Peacock series, The Miniature Wife, at a press event last October, and now that the streamer has shared a first look at it, we can concur. The Miniature Wife sees Lindy (Elizabeth Banks) wake up one morning sleeping in a doll house while her husband Les (MacFadyen) remains the size of a typical human man. We don’t get too much else from the brief teaser, except that Les thinks the situation isn’t all bad.

“Based on the short story written by Manuel Gonzales, THE MINIATURE WIFE is a dramedy examining the power (im)balances between spouses after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis,” reads the official synopsis for the series. MacFadyen did tell Variety a bit more about the show at that previous event. “When they got together, she was the star of the marriage. She wrote a semi-autobiographical book and won the Pulitzer Prize; then it was made into an Oscar-nominated film. Les, a research scientist, was thrilled for her, but he played second fiddle in the relationship,” he explains. “They really hit a low in their relationship, even when she’s the size of a dollar bill. It doesn’t make Les hold back at the nadir of their upset and anger with each other. So yeah, it’s pretty bleak. But then it’s ridiculous again.”

Beside Banks and MacFadyen, The Miniature Wife also stars O-T Fagbenle, Zoe Lister-Jones, Sian Clifford, and Sofia Rosinsky. All ten episodes of the series will premiere on Peacock on April 9. You can take a peek at another first-look image below.
