With a new album, The State Of Gold, out tomorrow, June 30, it’s time to revisit Matt Pond PA. The incredibly prolific band’s last LP, The Lives Inside The Lines In Your Hand, was released a couple of years ago, not that Pond and company have been idle since. Alongside Chris Hansen, Matt Pond has remained active, touring and fiddling around with new sounds. Recorded as usual in the idyllic-sounding Bearsville, New York, The State Of Gold features guest vocals from The Mynabirds’ Laura Burhenn and guest drumming from Caveman’s Matt Iwanusa.
