The Room's Tommy Wiseau will be reviewing videogames soon
There's no question The Room, Tommy Wiseau's epically confusing 2003 film, was really terrible. (Don't understand why there's that random drug-dealing scene or why breast cancer is mentioned and never brought up again? The Room!) But that he clearly truly believed in the film is what makes The Room both terrible and fascinating. The same can’t be said for The House That Drips Blood On Alex, a schlocky web short starring Wiseau and written in the clumsy style of The Room by the writing/directing team of Brock LaBorde and Jared Richard. It was bad on purpose, which meant it was just bad. Not content to leave well enough alone, the team behind Alex has a new series launching September 25: The Tommy Wi-Show. The trailer debuted last week.
At its core, it’s a videogame review show that has aliens kidnapping Wiseau and forcing him to play games for their amusement. Given Wiseau’s often shaky grasp of the English language, it seems likely that the show will just be a flimsy excuse to let Wiseau ham it up for the camera. Which might not be a bad thing, if over time, Wiseau gets more involved and tries directing an episode or something. We can only hope.
